OUR WORK
WHAT WE DO
Jericho Circle creates safer prisons and communities by empowering transformational healing for incarcerated individuals and returning citizens on both sides of the prison wall. Our work is modeled on that of Inside Circle in California (featured in the award-winning documentary The Work).
Working within strong, safe, peer-facilitated group containers (“circles”), we support participants in developing greater self-awareness and emotional literacy, healing deep emotional wounds from the past, and reclaiming the fullness of their humanity.
We offer leadership and facilitation training to incarcerated participants and partner with them to co-lead our prison circles. Upon release from prison, we offer a pathway for these proven leaders to give back to society as Credible Messengers who can support other justice-involved individuals in making the same journey.
Our healing model is group-based, peer-facilitated, and rooted in Jungian depth psychology. We integrate mindfulness, guided visualization, bioenergetics, psychodrama, inner “parts work”, and non-sectarian ritual to create a unique and powerful healing formula that creates a lasting impact.
