A New Director of Reentry + Alumni Circle updates

Jericho Circle volunteers in a large circle at our April 2022 outside intensive

In 2022, we held three Alumni Circles in the Greater Boston area, which were followed by group dinners in the evening at nearby restaurants. Marty Hellman was instrumental in organizing these events for us (thank you, Marty!)

MCI-Norfolk Circle Guide Chris Robinson was released on parole earlier this year (big congrats to Chris!), and another of our Circle Guides (TBA) was also recently granted parole and is expected to be released in the coming months. These men join a small but growing core of experienced Jericho Circle alumni who have returned home in recent years. This is a major cause for celebration and the beginning of a new chapter for our organization as we look to build out our Reentry programs.

In November, the Board approved funding to hire Glenn Williams as our new Director of Reentry. Glenn participated in Jericho Circle while incarcerated at MCI-Norfolk and, prior to accepting this position, served for several years on our Board of Directors. He has 11 years of experience helping formerly incarcerated men transition home from prison and will oversee a range of reentry initiatives for us, including organizing monthly Reentry Circles, 1-1 mentoring for returning citizens, welcome home dinners, and coordination of support resources for various reentry-related challenges. Through these efforts, we will support formerly incarcerated men and women in successfully completing their return to society, and in serving as Credible Messengers (a concept borrowed from our friends at Inside Circle) who can support other justice-involved individuals in their own journeys of healing and homecoming.
